Baby Hats

Literally, a 20 minute project!  I don't get many of those, right?  Three little baby hats...

The plain blue one on the left is, literally, just plain.  The yellow one in the back has ears (ears!!!) but is also very simple.  The football hat is copied from Make It and Love It's Fleece Football Hat tutorial.  Very cute idea!  I'm hoping that at least one of these hats (which I made all slightly different sizes) will fit the little dude they're intended for.

Heirloom Bonnets (Part 2)

I did find the photos of my previous two bonnets!  Both were made using the same Simplicity 3840 pattern.

Heirloom Bonnet

I love these sweet little heirloom bonnets.  I had a request from a friend, and was glad to make this darling little thing for a much anticipated little girl.

And they really do need to be white on the outside, don't they?  So pretty.  I lined the inside with some pink/grey stripes.

These bonnets are really easy to put together.  I used Simplicity 3840, and made this one the newborn size....because it's just too sweet.

I have made two other little bonnets like this.  I'll have to see if I have the photos anywhere.

Beachy Hat Ribbons

I had a friend come by with a last minute request to attach ribbons to her daughters' beach hats.  Lord knows those hats blow right off in the wind!

It obviously took longer to take the pictures than it did to sew on the ribbon.  I believe the hats were a Target purchase.

I rolled under the raw edge of the ribbon and tacked it down right on the original seam in the hat so you can't even tell it's there from the outside.

Gift for a Preemie

Every now and then I get to work on a project that just seems really meaningful.  Really heartfelt.  I love making gifts for people in general...I think it's a fantastic way to show friends and family that I care about them.  Taking time to think up something uniquely for that person and using the time and energy to make it...that's precious.

Recently I was able to make a gift for a friends' sister who gave birth to a perfect little girl, but several months early.  I hope this blanket and hat set warmed her heart!

I used a Make It and Love It tutorial for this project.  She had some really good advice about sewing the rib knit around the outside of the blanket, but honestly I felt like the rib knit was a little bulky for just a single layer knit blanket.  BUT it sure did turn out cute, right?  Not as cute as little miss Elliot though, I assure you!
