Rainbow Loom Case

Have you seen this Rainbow Loom case pattern by Noodlehead?  I haven't purchased a pattern in quite a while, but went ahead and splurged this time and really enjoyed this project for my daughter.

The instructions were easy to follow, and I love the multiple style cases you can make from this one pattern.

This is the inside of the case, with a vinyl pocket for your bands, or whatever...and two pockets at the bottom for your loom(s).

The only gripe I have with my case (not the pattern...she certainly does mention you can do this by hand)....is that I SHOULD have done the last binding step by hand.  I quilt, I know how.  And I found it difficult around the curves to match the inside/outside pieces.  So, although the binding looks nice on the outside, on the inside I have this...

Annoying, when the rest of it is so beautiful!  Oh well, next time I know.  And I'm sure there will be more!

Heirloom Bonnet

I love these sweet little heirloom bonnets.  I had a request from a friend, and was glad to make this darling little thing for a much anticipated little girl.

And they really do need to be white on the outside, don't they?  So pretty.  I lined the inside with some pink/grey stripes.

These bonnets are really easy to put together.  I used Simplicity 3840, and made this one the newborn size....because it's just too sweet.

I have made two other little bonnets like this.  I'll have to see if I have the photos anywhere.

Matching Robes

Another of Miss A's (and Baby A's) Christmas gifts included a matching robe set.  I snagged some fun purple (Lady A's current favorite color) flannel when JoAnn had their black friday flannel sale.  They turned out SO cute!



I used patterns for both robes:
  Simplicity 5931 for the big girl (I keep promising the hubs a robe too.  Someday.)
  Simplicity Crafts 5276 for the doll

Both patterns were pretty simple, except for the collar.  It did take me a few minutes to figure out what they were talking about there.

I love the idea of matching doll/kid things.  Miss A LOVES the doll stuff I make her.  So far she's completely uninterested in wearing anything I make for her....except her Tinkerbell Dress.  Pics on that forthcoming.

Pattern Sales

Let's just stop for a moment and admire that which is...the JoAnn Fabrics pattern sales.  Simplicity patterns for $1 each?  Yes please!

Costume patterns, dress patterns....I basically go through the bins and find stuff that looks like fun.  Thanks to these sales I now can outfit my little girl in any and all Disney dresses.  Unfortunately she hasn't yet taken to playing dress-up.  I'm hoping that changes....
