Marbled Easter Eggs

Have you seen these fun dyed marbled Easter eggs yet?  They looked like fun, and like they'd be pretty easy, so we gave them a go.

I'm not sure if the lady who made them peeled her eggs right away or not, but our eggs didn't end up quite so white around the 'cracks'.  And our eggs were pretty soggy/mushy.  Now, we make hard boiled eggs weekly 'round here, so I'm pretty sure that had something to do with the dying process and then letting the eggs sit for a day or two before peeling.  I'll try it again sometime but will plan to use them right away...

Easter Bunnies

We made ourselves a little Easter Bunny banner last week.  Idea courtesy of Serving Pink Lemonade  here.

I had some bunnies I'd drawn up for my Easter Applique Bunny shirts last year, so I printed them out and Lady A and I cut them out and glued on some cotton tails.  It's amazing how much fun such a simple project is for kids.  I guess it's more about doing something with Mom than the actual project, eh?

Bunny Shirts

Last week I was looking for a quick little project (instant gratification!  ain't it grand?) and settled on making the little ones matching bunny shirts - something I'll probably only be able to get away with for another few years.

I grabbed two collared shirts from Target (I seriously love this blue!), drew up a quick bunny and sewed it down using some left over Steam-a-Seam and fleece.  It's not great, but it works!  Next year I need to spend a bit more time on the design and execution, but for now I'm satisfied.  The Easter Bunny didn't mind that they weren't perfect!
